Thousand Oaks, CA –  Compass Charter Schools (CCS) is honored to be featured in the Digital Learning Collaborative (DLC) 2020 Snapshot. CCS was chosen as one of two virtual schools to be included as a leader in Online Learning.

The DLC calls this a Snapshot for two reasons. First, it provides a snapshot of K–12 digital learning activity in the United States. Second, it gives a glimpse into the far more extensive information available on the DLC website. The report goes in-depth, describing the educational options, including Online Learning, Hybrid School, Supplemental Online Courses with Online Teachers, and Supplemental Online Courses with Onsite Teachers.

“I am so honored that Compass Charter Schools has been chosen as a leader in online education in the 2020 DLC Snapshot,” shared J.J. Lewis, CCS Superintendent, and CEO. “Our top priority is to provide an engaging virtual learning environment for scholars to receive the best education that fits their unique needs. I am proud of our Compass Experience, proud of the staff who deliver this experience to our scholars, and on behalf of our entire Compass community, honored to be recognized by the DLC.”

Evergreen Education Group published a series of annual reports from 2004 to 2016. The reports were sponsored by state agencies, non-profit organizations, companies, and school districts, providing reviews of policy and practice for K-12 digital, online and blended learning. In 2017 and 2018 a report was not published, as key partners and Evergreen decided how to keep the goal of Keeping Pace while shifting to the new digital age. In 2020 Evergreen recreated the Keeping Pace reports under DLC and the Digital Learning Annual Conference as the 2020 Snapshot. The first DLC conference was held in April 2019.

“The Compass Experience is designed with our scholars in mind,” said Lewis. “We pride ourselves on the number of supports that are made available for scholars and parents alike, knowing we are partners along their educational journey, which is why we consider ourselves to be the ‘Gold Standard in Virtual Education.’”
