She hoped to enroll in our high school-level precalculus course in the first semester. However, due to the math sequence requirements, she needed to complete a full year of both geometry and Algebra 2 before she could do so. Between October and January of this school year, she worked diligently to finish a full year of geometry and Algebra 2 (earning A’s across the board!). She successfully began her precalculus coursework at the beginning of the second semester! Susan has natural talent and an impressive skill set, and she works tremendously hard to achieve her goals. I am so proud of her accomplishments!” ~Michelle Moyer, ST

“David just completed his first semester at Compass, having transferred from a school where he was not feeling motivated. Since coming to Compass, he has dove right in, and now, at the start of semester 2, he is asking for MORE challenges! He is my #1 user of Seesaw; as of this writing, he has submitted 299 samples for his body of work! David is very organized and appreciates feedback. Whenever I suggest how to make something stronger, he returns to his work and re-submits it. David didn’t consider himself a strong reader, even though he surprised himself with great test scores. David wasn’t sure what to read…so he started listening to new genres of literature, and it’s been a great addition to his expanding portfolio. He likes to get most of his work done Monday-Thursday, so on Fridays, he can spend extra time building and customizing his 4-wheeler. Two more highlights – recently, he (under the supervision of his learning coach/Dad) completed his first dissection and writeup and says he is ready for more. David’s accent in beginning Spanish is developing very well with the help of an app on his phone. I am so proud of David and can’t wait to see what he does next!” ~Stephanie Lee, ST
