A Word From Our Superintendent & CEO: Go and Achieve It!

By February 3, 2021 February 6th, 2021 A Word From Our CEO, Blog

The second semester is here! It is hard to believe February has arrived, and we are more than half-way through the 2020-21 school year. Our scholars finished the first semester strong, and I encourage our entire Compass community to use the new semester as a fresh start! Whether you need to set goals to stay organized or continue on a strong path, remember that your teachers and Compass staff are here to support you with whatever you may need.

We celebrated Spirit Week last week, as well as National School Choice Week and The Great Kindness Challenge. We are so proud of our scholars and staff for continually promoting kindness, community, and spirit at Compass. We also spent the month of January recognizing our Board of Directors during National School Board Recognition month! Our board members guide the mission and vision of Compass and devote their time to help us meet our goal to support each scholar along their educational journey. Please join me once more thanking our Board of Directors for all that they do to support our Compass community!

This week we celebrate National School Counseling Week. Please make sure to thank your counselors for all the incredible work that they do. Furthermore, make sure to visit your counselor and utilize all that the Counseling Department has to offer! The Counseling Services Team embodies this year’s theme of “All In” by always supporting our scholars. Make sure to post on social media how wonderful they are @CompassCs #AllIn.

February’s core value is achievement, which is an essential part of our Compass community. Achievement looks different for every scholar. While some look forward to achieving their goal of attending a four-year university, other scholars are working toward achieving their goal of joining the military, becoming an Olympic athlete, a famous entertainer, working in a trade, or more. Our counselors and teachers partner with each of our families to help create a personalized learning experience and a college and career readiness plan to help our scholars achieve their goals. All of the teachers and staff at Compass are committed to helping scholars achieve their dreams.

This month we will host two Virtual Information Sessions; one on Tuesday, February 9 at 7 pm and the second on Thursday, February 18 at 1 pm. Please spread the word to your friends and on social media about the incredible school that Compass is, and be #LoudandProud, representing your Compass Family!

Finally, I offer you The Energy Bus’ Principle 6 – Love Your Passengers! Please join us in The Energy Bus’ Love Your Passengers campaign to help participate in this key principle! The PDF has an activity or challenge for each day of February.

It is a great honor to serve and support our scholars along their educational journey at Compass Charter Schools. As a believer in school choice, I am acutely aware of the number of choices our scholars, families, and staff have to meet their educational needs. Thank you for your trust in Compass as your partner in education!
