Compass Statement Regarding Antisemitism

By November 1, 2022 Blog

At Compass Charter Schools (Compass), we strive to create a safe space for all of our scholars, families, and staff. Due to recent events, Compass would like to remind our educational partners that we have zero tolerance for antisemitism and any hate speech in our schools. Antisemitism impacts millions of Jews and people of all backgrounds in the U.S. and around the globe, tearing the fabric of societies wherever it spreads (ADL https://www.adl.org/what-we-do/fight-antisemitism). Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is dedicated to addressing these issues and have resources available for any of our educational partners who would like additional support with addressing antisemitism.

Additionally, scholars and staff are invited to attend our Jewish Heritage Month Assembly, which will be held in May 2023. Details to join the assembly will be made available closer to May via our Monday Morning Update (MMU) and ParentSquare calendar.

Below are some resources to assist our educational partners in holding conversations within homes or classrooms about this issue. If more information is desired, please reach out to our DEI Chair, Sarah Eagleton (Online Elementary School Teacher), at info@compasscharters.org.
