Compass Charter Schools Introduces Gregory Cohen as Chief Academic Officer

Compass Charter Schools (Compass) welcomes Chief Academic Officer Greg Cohen. Greg has been serving scholars and teachers for over 25 years in various leadership roles. He is skilled in innovating from classroom to boardroom and delivering results through skillful facilitation and creative problem-solving. Greg’s inclusive and collaborative leadership style empowers teams, builds staff capacity, and creates positive school culture.

Greg received his bachelor of science degree in English/Secondary Education from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania and began his work in education in 1995 in Philadelphia. Shortly after, he moved to San Diego, where he earned his Master of Education in Education Technology from National University.

He has served in numerous roles during his career, including lead teacher, learning support specialist, learning design coordinator, director on a charter school Board of Directors, principal, director of curriculum development and implementation, and director of curriculum and instruction. Greg has found success in developing innovative curriculum for at-promise students, facilitating strategic planning and professional development, and building a positive culture to increase engagement, retention, and gains.
