By June 26, 2018 News

Thousand Oaks, CA – CCS is proud of its scholars and uses its Scholar of the Month program to recognize their accomplishments. The program also ties into the CCS core values with May focusing on teamwork. Scholars are nominated by teachers and staff for their academic excellence, work ethic, leadership skills, and virtual involvement, and selected by the leadership team for the monthly honor.

Online Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Anthony P., of Porterville

“Anthony is such a joy to have as a scholar,” said Kari Watt, elementary school teacher. “He excels in all of his coursework, and always seems to have a smile on his face. He has gone above and beyond in our Lanes program this year and completed so many amazing projects. Way to go Anthony!”

Online Middle School Scholar of the Month: Michael S., of Perris

“Michael exemplifies all of the CCS core values and is an overall outstanding young man,” said Jessica Wood, middle school teacher. “Michael has maintained excellent grades all year long in his courses. He always speaks to his teachers with the utmost respect inside and outside of the classroom. He is in constant communication with teachers in order to excel in his courses and participates during all of his classes. Michael does an excellent job of communicating both socially and academically with scholars during class, and works well on group projects.”

Online High School Scholar of the Month: Flavia N.P., of North Hollywood

“Flavia has done an excellent job in her courses this year,” said Jason Bee, high school teacher. “She works very hard and exemplifies the CCS core value of achievement. She participates in learning labs and is always attentive and engaged. She did an outstanding job on her final project for the year. Great job, Flavia!”

Options Program Scholar of the Month: Cayleigh T, of Rancho Cucamonga

“Cayleigh has made amazing progress,” said Susan De La Pena, educational facilitator. “She came to CCS during the middle of the school year. In the midst of incredible trials, she worked diligently to get up to grade level in all of her subjects. She created projects for math and science, creating a great PowerPoint about zoos and conservation. Through it all, she always had a cheerful attitude and never gave up, even though it would have been easy to do so.

“Congratulations to all of our May Scholars of the Month. There are many talented scholars at CCS, and this program is one of the many ways we recognize and celebrate their hard work,” shared J.J. Lewis, President & CEO. “Please join all of us at CCS in celebrating Anthony, Michael, Flavia, and Cayleigh for being named our May Scholars of the Month!”
