Compass Charter Schools (CCS) Names their March Scholars of the Month

Thousand Oaks, CA – Compass Charter Schools (CCS) is proud of its scholars and the Scholar of the Month program to recognizes their accomplishments. The program also ties in the CCS core values of achievement, respect, teamwork, integrity, and communication. Scholars are nominated by teachers and staff for their academic excellence, work ethic, leadership skills, and virtual involvement and selected by the leadership team for the monthly honor.

Compass Charter Schools of Los Angeles (serving the counties of Los Angeles, Kern, San Bernardino, and Ventura):

Online Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Micah M. of Los Angeles

“Micah is a wonderful scholar who continually tries his best!” shared Joyce Popelar, Elementary School Teacher. “He is working hard and excelling in his subjects. Micah and his learning coach enjoy doing art together. He embodies all of our Compass ARTIC values!”

Online Middle School Scholar of the Month: Michelle M. of Los Angeles

“I would like to nominate Michelle for her hard work and being on pace each week,” shared Erica Angelo, Middle School Teacher. “She reaches out for assistance when needed and always gives 100% when doing her work. Erica is a high achiever.”

Online High School Scholar of the Month: Christian C. of San Bernardino

“Christian is a model scholar,” said Ms. Rosette Sowell, High School Teacher. “He is dedicated to his academics and participates fully in learning labs. He helps other scholars on his own and is always a model for respect and integrity.”

Options Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Andre C. of Encino

“Andre demonstrates the ARTIC goal of achievement in science,” shared Morgan Kohler, Educational Facilitator. “He shows great enthusiasm when he explains what he is learning in science during connection meetings. Through his work, it is evident that Andre has a clear grasp of scientific concepts and a love for the subject area.”

Options Middle School Scholar of the Month: Janeth R. G. of North Hills

“Janeth is detailed in her work and has a high work ethic,” shared Karla Marroquin, Educational Facilitator. “She continues on her journey to develop her English skills.”

Options High School Scholar of the Month: Rafael R. G. of North Hills

“Rafael is set to graduate from Compass in June, “shared Karla Marroquin, Educational Facilitator. “He is hardworking and dedicated to his studies. Rafael demonstrates a tremendous commitment to completing his high school education.”

Online Middle School Scholar of the Month: Amara S., of Orange

“Amara is doing excellent work, and I can tell that she enjoys Compass and excels as an online scholar!” Shared Kim Noller, Middle School Teacher.

Online High School Scholar of the Month: Chloe H. of Carlsbad

“Chloe is a diligent scholar who possesses integrity,” stated her Spanish teacher, Shannon Davis. “She actively participates in learning labs and helps her peers when needed. Additionally, Chloe’s respect shines through in her work, especially her focused notes, which are completed with thought, demonstrating she reviews the Spanish materials. Chloe is a self-starter and exemplifies what it means to be a Firebird!”

Options Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Moreno M. X. of Chula Vista

“Moreno excels in her creativity, in particular when it comes to doing science projects. She puts a lot of care into her work samples and shows excellent achievement!” Shared Karla Marroquin, Educational Facilitator.

Options Middle School Scholar of the Month: Eric B. of Corona

“Eric has been making great progress academically this year,” shared Yolanda Wiederrich, Educational Facilitator. “His passion is in art. He is naturally gifted and provides beautiful work samples. Eric enjoys and takes pride in his work.”

Options High School Scholar of the Month: Sarah G. T. of Imperial Beach

“Sarah always goes above and beyond what is required of her,” shared Amy Guerrero, Educational Facilitator. “She gets her work done on time and takes initiative.”

Compass Charter Schools of Yolo (serving the counties of Yolo, Contra Costa, Colusa, Lake, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, Solano, Sonoma, and Sutter):

Online Middle School Scholar of the Month: Gabriel D. S., of Moraga

“Gabriel is brand new to Compass,” shared Erica Angelo, Middle School Teacher. “He has jumped right in and has been working diligently in class. He is always willing to participate in and attend learning labs.”

Online High School Scholar of the Month: Sabrina S. of Santa Rosa

“Sabrina is new to Compass this spring,” shared Janae Smith, Online Education Coordinator. “She has jumped right into her online courses. Sabrina has demonstrated Compass core values, especially respect. She is respectful to her teachers and peers. She works hard in her courses and shows determination to stay on pace with her studies. We are excited that she has joined our Compass family!”

Options Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Adelaide H. of Lower Lake

“Adelaide has many achievements to be proud of,” shared Danielle Kiefner, Educational Facilitator. “She always completes high-quality work on time. She is achieving her goal of learning ballet. Adelaide helps and supports her younger siblings in achieving their goals as well. She puts in the time and energy necessary to accomplish what she sets her mind to.”

Options Middle School Scholar of the Month: Charlie K. of Sebastopol

“Charlie has grown so much this year! Her writing is fantastic. She is currently writing a book that I cannot wait to see!” Shared Holly Dong, Educational Facilitator.
