Thousand Oaks, CA – CCS is proud of its scholars and uses its Scholar of the Month program to recognize their accomplishments. The program also ties into the CCS core values with June focusing on integrity. Scholars are nominated by teachers and staff for their academic excellence, work ethic, leadership skills, and virtual involvement, and selected by the leadership team for the monthly honor.
Online Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Cayden C.H., of Oak View
“Cayden worked hard to finish last year strong,” said Meghan Fisher, elementary school teacher. “His Science and History projects were truly amazing! He went above and beyond. Cayden put a lot of effort into creating wonderful evidence of his learning.”
Online Middle School Scholar of the Month: Joseph B., of Escondido
“Joseph truly did an exceptional job in all of his classes last year,” said Erica Angelo, middle school teacher. “He felt comfortable expressing himself in writing and verbally. He was able to stay on pace, despite a late start, and continues to hold the necessary characteristics of a successful online scholar.”
Online High School Scholar of the Month: Cielo H., of Los Angeles
“Cielo is unfailingly polite and responsive to all communication from her peers and teachers,” said Alyssa Ginn, high school teacher. “Last year she attended her learning labs and gave meaningful participation in each of her classes. She was a joy to have in class and truly loves to learn. ”
Options Program Scholar of the Month: Isabella P., of Winnetka
“Isabella is a highly enthusiastic third grader who demonstrated a true thirst for knowledge,” said Morgan Kohler, educational facilitator. “She is a gifted reader and writer, and she loves all things to do with history and science. Isabella is always eager to share what she has been learning and her involvement with Girl Scouts. She also recently became interested in horseback riding and is taking lessons. With her intrinsic motivation for learning, Isabella is set to achieve anything she desires!”
