Thousand Oaks, CA – CCS is proud of its scholars and uses its Scholar of the Month program to recognize their accomplishments. The program also ties into the CCS core values with January focusing on integrity. Scholars are nominated by teachers and staff for their academic excellence, work ethic, leadership skills, and virtual involvement, and selected by the leadership team for the monthly honor.

Online Elementary School Scholar of the Month: Ayden A., of La Puente

“Ayden logs into his courses consistently each day, attends Learning Labs, participates in weekly check-ins, and completes great work,” said Carrie Talcott, elementary school teacher. “He also shows integrity by staying on task during his Learning Labs, and he always follows the rules. Since he follows through on getting tasks done each day, he has the qualities of a scholar who will go far.”

Online Middle School Scholar of the Month: Aleeha M., of Bakersfield

“Aleeha demonstrates integrity in everything she does at school,” said Erica Angelo, middle school teacher. “She does her best work in class and is aware of how her actions may impact others’ feelings during discussions in her Learning Labs. We are lucky to have Aleeha in our school!”

Online High School Scholar of the Month: Daniel O., of Gardena

“Daniel exemplifies integrity because he works hard in his courses and strives to do his very best,” said Jason Bee, high school teacher. “He had one of the highest grades in World History during semester 1. He consistently attends his Learning Labs and is an active participant in class!”

Options Program Scholar of the Month: Lucy P.R., of Anaheim

“Lucy has genuine integrity,” said Tricia Gallagher, educational facilitator. “She approaches life with a wonderful combination of compassion and ambition. In a quiet way, her drive and dedication to achieve are positively contagious. Lucy naturally emerges in leadership roles with an ability to direct groups in a kind, productive manner. She pursues a diversity of interests and is a passionate artist and gifted writer. Her insightful view of the world, often advocating for others, benefits her talents and those around her!

“Congratulations to all of our January Scholars of the Month. There are many talented scholars enrolled at CCS, and this program is one of the many ways we recognize and celebrate their hard work,” shared J.J. Lewis, President & CEO. “Please join all of us at CCS in celebrating Ayden, Aleeha, Daniel, and Lucy for being named our January Scholars of the Month!”
