Thousand Oaks, Ca. – Compass Charter Schools has been granted accreditation through June 30, 2025 by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) for its Los Angeles school after a recent self-study visit. This follows initial accreditation that was previously granted by ACS WASC. CCS of Los Angeles is authorized by the Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District in Los Angeles County.

“We are honored to have received this six-year accreditation status by ASC WASC,” said J.J. Lewis, CCS Superintendent & CEO. “We focus heavily on abiding by ASC WASC standards to ensure we are meeting the educational needs of the scholars we serve. It is an honor to provide our Compass Experience to scholars who reside in Los Angeles County, and its adjacent counties, and have this accreditation status for our community.”

The ACS WASC Commissioners have determined CCS of Los Angeles meets the criteria for accreditation based on information provided by the school, including a self-study report, and the satisfactory completion of an on-site accreditation visit.

We commend Compass Charter Schools for it’s dedication to providing students with a quality educational experience, and being recognized for their efforts with the granting of WASC accreditation,” said Nesha Patterson, Director at Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District

The accreditation entitles CCS to use the phrase “Fully Accredited by (or) Accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges” at the Los Angeles school.

Transcripts of scholars who are graduating or transferring from CCS may be stamped or embossed “Accredited” with the ACS WASC accredited seal.
