A Word From Our Superintendent & CEO: Transforming Challenges Into Opportunity!

By March 3, 2021 March 4th, 2021 A Word From Our CEO, Blog

Welcome, March!

It is hard to believe we are already at the midpoint of our second semester at Compass and thinking about next year! This past Monday, March 1, marked the opening of re-enrollment for returning families for the 2020-21 school year, along with enrollment for new prospective families looking to join our Compass family. I am extremely proud of the Compass Experience we provide our scholars, and if this experience meets your educational needs, I hope you will place your trust in our fantastic team! I invite you to share with us why you #ChooseCompass on social media.

Compass Charter Schools is making great strides in 2021. We strive to improve our virtual program’s quality and integrity every day, but we cannot do it without your feedback. Compass has created a survey to help us continue this forward momentum. We encourage you to participate in the survey and respond by this Friday, March 5, as it will help shape our planning for the upcoming 2021-22 academic year.

This month we are celebrating our Core ARTIC Award recipients. We are so proud of how hard our scholars are working and how dedicated they are to the Compass Core Values of Achievement, Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, and Communication. I genuinely believe that the sky is the limit for our scholars! Please take advantage of all the programs and opportunities that Compass has to offer.

Compass continues on an incredible journey as a proud Energy Bus School! We bring positivity to each day and operate from seven basic principles to hold ourselves, our scholars, and our learning coaches responsible for our successes. This month, I encourage you to focus on Principle 5: Transform negativity – look at ways to turn challenges into great opportunities, learning, and growth opportunities. It has been increasingly important to focus on the positives in our life and how we have learned patience and perseverance during this pandemic.

March celebrates National Women’s History Month! I invite you to honor the female heroes in your lives and the world. Women daily transform negativity and find ways to uplift our homes, workplace, and the world. To all the incredible females at Compass, we admire you!

We also celebrate Employee Appreciation Day this Friday, March 5! We are so fortunate at Compass Charter Schools to have the very best in educators, learning coaches, counselors, tutors, special education specialists, and staff! We truly look for the Gold Standard when we hire staff and always focus on our scholars’ needs first. We look to hire and retain professionals with expertise and passion for their field. Thank you to our incredible staff; I celebrate you every day!

Share your transformative stories with us on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram! Keep up the great work in your classes, finish the school year strong, and do not hesitate to reach out to our excellent Compass team for any additional support.

And as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this month, I share this Irish saying; “May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks. May your heart be as light as a song. May each day bring you bright, happy hours. That stay with you all the year long.”
