California’s Legislature recognizes the important contributions of school administrators and named the second full week of October “Week of the School Administrator” to honor these contributions. School administrators are passionate, lifelong learners who believe in
the value of quality public education. The title “school administrator” is a broad term used to define many education leadership posts. Superintendents, assistant superintendents,
principals, assistant principals, special education and adult education leaders, curriculum and assessment leaders, school business officials, classified educational leaders, and other school district employees are considered administrators.
