Posted Date: 10/19/26 (02:09 PM)

MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT & CEO LIZ BRENNER:

Dear Compass families,

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Keileigh Houston as our new PAC chair. Ms. Houston has been a Learning Coach for several years and she has attended PAC meetings regularly for the past two years. She comes to our meetings with creative ideas and solutions that I am confident will help Compass grow.

We had an amazing Parent Advisory Council meeting on Friday. We focused on reviewing Compass's framework refresh, specifically discussing the scholar profile competencies. I presented an overview of the framework's structure and led a discussion where parents provided feedback on the language and concepts, suggesting more accessible wording and emphasizing the importance of emotional well-being, resilience, and authentic learning experiences. The ideas and suggestions provided by the council will be incorporated in the feedback that we consider as we evaluate the scholar competencies and determine if changes need to be made.

Thank you to all of our Learning Coaches and Scholars who provided feedback on our Scholar Profile. There is still time to respond, so please answer this survey to have your voice be included in this important work.

Have a wonderful week.

Liz Brenner
