Compass Online Learning Program
Our Online program utilizes Accelerate Education as our curriculum partner along with a number of tools which provide rigorous instruction for scholars in an online learning environment.
Scholars in Compass Charter Schools’ Online Learning Program have consistently met their academic goals and have demonstrated increased proficiency on state and internal benchmark assessments. Using the award-winning, research-based, standards-aligned Accelerate Education curriculum, the Online team can personalize scholar learning through course customization that includes project-based learning and differentiated assignments and assessments to provide for scholar needs and preferences.
Scholars can dive deeper into their online curriculum and showcase their learning through presentations, videos, offline activities, handwritten work, and other platforms to allow scholars to explore and express their areas of interest and passion for learning. With access to the online curriculum 24/7, scholars have the flexibility to fit their learning into their lifestyle.
Our Online Learning parents, or Learning Coaches, play a vital role in their scholar’s learning. From helping their scholars set goals, creating daily/weekly schedules, monitoring daily progress in Accelerate Education, and ensuring their scholar is engaged in each learning lab (synchronous instruction session), Learning Coaches assume an active role as they collaborate with the scholar’s supervising teacher to support and celebrate scholar academic progress and goal achievement.

ACCELERATE EDUCATION
Accelerate Education curriculum.
Accelerate Education is an Award-Winning Online Learning Management System (LMS) that provides a rigorous curriculum. It ensures scholars are not just prepared but well-equipped to reach their academic goals, giving the audience assurance of the system’s academic standards.
Recognized by Cognia/Quality Matters and the Accrediting Commission for School: Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Accelerate Education provides an online, personalized learning experience for all scholars in the Online Learning program.
In addition to national recognition, Accelerate Education is an ESSA Tier 3 level curriculum that meets additional criteria for providing the best early literacy curriculum. Compass is proud to partner with Accelerate Education to show how scholars show significant growth in reading skills in English Language Arts across all grade levels evaluated.
SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS AND CURRICULUM
Supplemental Materials and Curriculum
Whether it is drawing a skyline in an introductory drawing class or learning the ins and outs of coding in the Minecraft Command Block elective, all scholars in the Online Learning Program will receive and have access to supplemental material kits and curriculum along with the Accelerate Education online learning management system ensuring that scholars have everything they need to access, participate, and succeed in the asynchronous courses and during synchronous, live sessions.
ONLINE LEARNING ELEMENTARY
Online Learning Elementary
Scholars in grades K-5 receive language arts and math workbooks to practice further the skills they learn in the asynchronous Accelerate Education courses.
In addition to the workbooks, scholars engage in their courses and learning labs by utilizing choice boards, digital portfolios, novel studies, and material kits that provide all they need to learn and grow.
ONLINE LEARNING MIDDLE SCHOOL
Online Learning Middle School
Scholars in grades 6-8 have a supervising and content teacher for each online course.
Content teachers provide learning labs and Q&A sessions that provide direct instruction and support for scholars to ensure academic progress and success.
Scholars can dive even deeper into learning by practicing additional math skills with iXL and engaging in offline assignments, activities, and note-taking.
Middle school scholars are assigned a school counselor who assists them in creating an individualized plan to ensure they are ready for high school.
ONLINE LEARNING HIGH SCHOOL
Online Learning High School
Online Learning High School courses, through Accelerate Education, are A–G and NCAA approved and are facilitated by an accredited Compass Online Teacher to provide a rigorous learning experience to prepare scholars to achieve their college and career goals beyond high school.
High School scholars are assigned a school counselor who assists them in creating a four-year high school plan specific to their goals. This supports on-time graduation and college and/or career readiness.
