Our Commitment

A safe and civil educational environment

Compass Charter Schools is committed to maintaining an educational environment in which all members of the school community are treated with dignity and respect.

Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying based on protected characteristics are prohibited in Compass programs, activities, services, and school-sponsored settings.

Compass works to prevent prohibited conduct, respond appropriately when concerns are reported, and investigate complaints in accordance with applicable policies and law.

Policy Scope

What the policy covers

The policy applies across Compass programs, activities, communications, and school-sponsored environments.

Discrimination & Harassment

Unlawful discrimination or harassment based on protected characteristics is prohibited.

Intimidation & Bullying

Prohibited conduct may include intimidation, bullying, threats, or other behavior that interferes with a safe learning environment.

School-Sponsored Activities

Protections extend to school-sponsored programs, events, services, and activities.

Technology & Electronic Communications

The policy also applies to prohibited conduct involving school technology and electronic communications connected to Compass programs or activities.

Protected Characteristics

Protections include disability, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, ancestry, race or ethnicity, immigration or citizenship status, religion, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, childbirth or related medical conditions, marital status, age, and association with a person or group with protected characteristics.

Questions, concerns, and reports involving Title IX may be directed to the Compass Title IX Coordinator.

Individuals may contact the coordinator for information about reporting options, the complaint process, applicable protections, or available support.
